Stress negatively impacts all metabolic processes in the body. Dehydration and stress make it harder for the kidneys to filter blood and for the cardiovascular system to move blood. Overtime it can cause the heart muscle to become enlarged (cardiomegaly). This type of negative stress on the heart is different from the kind of stress we induce when we are engaging in physical activity that is healthy such as working out at the gym.
